Oadby and Wigston

University of the Third Age

Oadby and Wigston U3A is part of a worldwide organisation dedicated to retired people of any age who want to continue to learn in the company of others. In addition to academic activities there are walks, bridge sessions and opportunities for social get together. No formal qualifications are required, neither are any awards. All that is needed is a willingness to share one’s knowledge and to learn from others

Study groups form the basis of any U3A and these are organised by the members. You can find more information on all of these by clicking on to the Groups link above

We have a monthly meetings usually on the last Wednesday of every month from 2pm when there is a speaker for approximately one hour. The talks are varied, often illustrated, and are chosen to reflect different tastes and interests. Invariably there is something for everyone.

The meetings are followed by an opportunity to talk to each other. Click on the “Talks programme” link to see what is coming in the months ahead

We have a wide variety of Groups, which are organised by members. New groups are both encouraged and welcomed,so if you have an interest or hobby to share the U3A is the place to be

One or two excursions to places of interest take place each year in addition to an annual holiday organised by our travel group

The monthly meetings are held at
