What we do
Oadby & Wigston U3A  is part of a world-wide organisation dedicated to retired people of any age who want to continue to learn in the company of others. In addition to academic activities there are walks, bridge sessions and opportunities for social get togethers. No formal qualifications are required, neither are any awarded. All that is needed is a willingness to share one's knowledge and to learn from others.
Study groups form the basis of any U3A and these are organised by members. You can find more information on all these by clicking on the link to the relevant group in the left-hand menu.
We have a monthly meeting usually on the last Wednesday of every month from 2pm, when there is a speaker  for approximately one hour. This is followed by refreshments and an opportunity to talk to each other. The talks are varied, often illustrated, and are chosen to reflect different tastes and interests.Invariably there is something for everyone; Click on the “Talks programme” link to see what is coming in the months ahead
We have a wide variety of Groups, which are all organised by members.and New groups are both encouraged and welcome, so if you have an interest or hobby to share, then the U3A is the place to be.
One or two excursions to places of interest take place each year in addition to an annual holiday organised by our travel group.
Why not come along and meet us, make friends, and develop new interests with like-minded people?
